This essay analyzes the way in which the English play wright Terence Rattigan uses the tragedy Agamemnon by Aeschylus to structure the dramatic text of his authorship,The Browning Version (1946).The proposed analysis also takes into consideration how the elements of Greek culture were included and adapted in the film versions that Anthony Asquith and Mike Figgis made of Rattigan’s play in 1951 and 1994, respectively.
