Light source to generate white light

2001
Light source for generating white light comprising a light emitting diode (LED) for emitting blue radiation and at least one luminophore that absorbs some of the blue radiation and also emits radiation in another spectral range characterized in that : - the luminophore is an alkaline-earth orthosilicate activated with divalent europium of one of the following compositions or a mixture of such compositions: a) (2-xy) SrO · x (BauCav) O · (1-abcd) SiO2 · aP2O5 bAl2O3dGeO2 : yEu2 + where: 0 = 1 b) (2-xy) · BaO x (SruCav) O · (1-abcd) SiO2 · aP2O5 bAl2O3dGeO2: yEu2 + where: 0, 01 = 1; x · u> = 0.4 - the luminophore emits in the spectral range of yellow-orange light green, yellow or - generating white light by mixing the light transmitted by the LED and the luminescence light emitted by the luminophore
