Survey of Nurse's Recognition of Self-protection for Antitumor Drug Contacting

Objective:To comprehend the recognition of self-protection and protective allocation for contacting antitumor drug of nurses working in the hospitals in cities and counties.Methods:investigate 157 samples including the nurses advanced studying in West China Hospital,Sichuan University who come from 78 hospitals in the cities and counties of 3 provinces in southwest China and the practical nurses from universities by the measuring scale designed by ourselves.Results:73.9% nurses contact chemotherapeutic drug on different levels in wok,92.4% nurses recognize the detriment of chemo,99.4% nurses consider self-protection should be strengthened,97% nurses need the training of cytotoxic drug protection,but only 3.8%～62.4% nurses know the handing specification of cytotoxic drug protection,the rate of corresponding protective allocation is low only 5.7%-62.4% in unities,8.3% unities adopt the centered prepared handling mode by special messenger.Conclusion:The chance to nurse vocational contacting antitumor drug is more and wider,nurses recognize the hazards of antitumor drug in vocational contact;But the protective allocation is default provided by Medical Therapy Units,the system of administration for cytotoxic drug protection is unsoundness,protective handling of nurse contacting antitumor drug is not standard.Expect to establish scientific and localized superintendent mode for cytotoxic drug protection;set up safe and effective protective institutions,provide tackles with protective efficiency;meanwhile,strengthen the training for nurses of knowledge of cytotoxic drug protection and protective manipulative skills.Under existing condition,Medical Therapy Units should formulate the protective operating instruction of contacting antitumor drug for nurses,adopt the centered prepared handling mode by special messenger for chemotherapeutics to reduce the chance to contact chemotherapeutics as far as possible,and reduce the environmental contamination.
