Black vanadium moth-eye structure fabricated by oblique deposition for solar light absorption

2019
We demonstrate the fabrication of a broadband light absorber by improved oblique deposition. The absorption material consists of V moth-eye structure deposited on V thin films to enhance the impedance matching. The material exhibits more than 95% average light absorption in a wide wavelength range of 220–1500 nm. Also, it is found that the reflectivity is almost independent of an incident angle at less than 60° and well accorded with calculations. In addition, the deposition method is scalable as it does not require nano-engineering processes such as electron beam lithography.
