A novel predictive current control for open-end winding induction motor drive with reduced computation burden and enhanced zero sequence current suppression

2017
In automotive testing systems such as chassis dynamometers and engine dynamometers, predictive current control (PCC) can be used to provide fast torque response, and open-end winding topology can be used to reduce torque ripples. In this paper, a novel predictive current control method based on A-B-C frame, without using cost function, for open-end winding induction motor drive is proposed and implemented. The experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the computation time by 61.05% compared with conventional predictive current control method. It also reduces zero-sequence current and provides faster dynamic response.
