A REVIEW ON COMPARISON OF TECHNOLOGIES AND PROGRESS OF A SMART GRID DEVELOPMENT IN MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE

An intelligent network which is Smart Grid (SG) can assure the enhancement, reliability, security and efficiency of energy operations. The SG offered many elements that beneficial to the demand response, HEMS, energy storage, distribution automation and advanced metering infrastructure. Various factors have been identified as the catalyst for the SG deployment such as ageing conventional infrastructure of electrical grid, huge expansion of electrical demand and the environmental issues associating with the GHG emission.Respective energy policies are responsible to establish the steadiness coordination between the country energy competitiveness, energy security and environmental sustainability. Understanding the impact of SG towards the revolutionary of electricity grid, the policy maker and the government can emphasize the policy framework theory towards the ASEAN power grid realization.
