The most important findings of the studies by Haley et al were the objective results of the neurologic examinations. Im¬ portantly, the neurologic findings in these veterans were no different than those of the healthy controls. In addition, inde¬ pendent neurologists reviewed the clinical and laboratory find¬ ings of each subject and were unable to diagnose specific neu¬ rologic disorders. Based on all the studies reported to date, we feel there is still insufficient evidence to suggest that the vet¬ erans' symptoms are caused by toxic exposures or that there are any neurologic disorders specific to the Gulf War conflict.
