Evaluation of the diagnostic value of P53 antibody and small nuclear ribonuelioprotein U1-A antibody to nonsmall cell lung cancer by using ROC curve

2012
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value and clinical significance of the detection of P53 antibody and small nuclear ribosomalprotein U1-A (U1-AsnRNP) antibody to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Forty-six patients with NSCLC were tested for P53 antibodies and U1AsnRNP antibodies by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay,forty-three healthy persons were recruited as controls. Results The concentration of serum P53 antidbody in patients was obviously higher than that in control group [25.38 μg/L(65.69μg/L) vs 10.45 μg/L(10.44 μg/L)].There was statistical significance between the two groups ( P =0.000).The concentration of serum U1-AsnRNP antidbody in patients was 165.57 U/L ( 104.51 U/L),and it was 170.05 U/L (74.12 U/L) in control group. There was no statistical significance between the two groups ( P =0.715).ROC curve analysis was done in order to evaluate their diagnostic value to NSCLC,which showed the area under the ROC curve of P53 antibody and U1-AsnRNP antibody were 0.717 and 0.478.P53 antibody sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis to NSCLC were 62.2% and 79.1%,respectively.Conclusions The P53 antibody for the diagnosis of NSCLC demonstrates better sensitivity and specificity, and the decection of serum P53 antibody has certain clinical significance in diagnosis of NSCLC.The U1-AsnRNP antibody has poor value in diagnosis of NSCLC.
