Two Software Tools Supporting Enduser Oriented Information Retrieval in Physics

1996
With a pilot project of the Federal Minister for Research and Technology (BMFT) 5000 scientists and students of 40 faculties of physics at universities in Germany have been trained during the last three years in using bibliographic databases. A significant contribution to the continuous acceptance of electronical specialized information came from two developments: the search-and administration-software ”UNIrech” and a problem oriented ”Userguide”. In this j paper both tools will be presented and the perspectives for an interdisciplinary use at universities or industry will be assessed.
