Vibration of cable net made of carbon fiber cables under excitation of main structure displacement

Taking temperature variation into account,nonlinear vibration of elliptic paraboloid cable net made of carbon fiber cables was investigated under excitation of main structure displacement.Its nonlinear vibration equation was presented,and the approximate solution of nonlinear vibration of elliptic paraboloid cable mesh was given by using Galerkin principle and KBM method.Then the influence of such factors as the displacement excitation,temperature,amplitude,and external damping on the nonlinear vibration of the cable net were discussed and analyzed on the basis of comparison between steel cable net and carbon fiber cable net,so that a conclusion was got that carbon fiber cable net was insensitive to temperature change and the vibration characteristics of cable net with carbon fiber cables was superior to cable net with steel cables.
