Fragmentation of the total cross section in the reaction16O+208Pb

The fragmentation of the total reaction cross section was investigated for16O +208Pb atEc.m.=84 MeV andEc.m.=92 MeV. Total cross sections for the inelastic, transfer and fission channels were measured. The sum of the inelastic and transfer channels accounts for 30% of the total reaction cross section; the residual strength is found in a compoundfission process.
