Affected factors and scoring system to predict success rate of percutaneous coronary interventions for chronic total occlusions

2016
Chronic total occlusions (CTO) is one of the most challenging and difficult conditions of coronary artery lesions. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the difficulty and success rate of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) for this disease. The latest scoring system and important factors which could affect success rate of PCI for CTO are reviewed in this article. For evaluation of guidewire crossing lesion within 30min, J-CTO scoring system showed some values.CT-RECTOR scoring system is better than J-CTO scoring system. However, both systems fail to predict the final success rate.CL-SCORE scoring system had higher value to predict the final success rate of PCI for CTO.In addition, differences of coronary artery lesions, collateral circulation and operative technology are the important factors to affect the success rate of CTO-PCI.
