HomeGrown: Sustainable Agriculture and Local Foods in Central Minnesota

2007
The Sustainable Farming Association produced a film showing how food, nutrition, agriculture, energy, and economy are linked to the health and vitality of the local economy, environment, and the people who inhabit it. The program features local producers, activists, and entrepreneurs who are pioneering and implementing sustainable technologies and systems to enable themselves and others to live more empowered, rewarding, and sustainable lives. The message: sustainable living - whether as a rural farmer or a semi-urban consumer - is possible, profitable, fun, healthy, and creates rewarding lifestyles that benefit people, their communities, and the environment. Lakeland Public TV's Through the Lens" independent TV production program provided the perfect vehicle to carry the idea forward.
