O modelo de infecção intradérmica por Staphylococcus aureus: uma alternativa para o entendimento do recrutamento de células para o sítio de infecção?

2015
Currently, the pathogen Staphylococcus aureus resistant to methicillin (MRSA) has become the subject of several studies, because of the high morbidity and mortality. However, little is known about the immune response associated with control of this infection. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of intradermal immunization with MRSA and the inflammatory response at the site of infection. For the experiments, A / J mice were used and immunized with MRSA strain. After the challenge, blood samples, serum, draining lymph nodes and ear were collected for histopathological analysis. From the blood smears were observed higher neutrophil counts in challenged groups with MRSA. Histopathological analysis showed inflammatory infiltrate in all groups. It was also observed that intradermal immunization promotes hyperplasia in the draining lymph node, however, no differences were observed in the profiles of pro-inflammatory cytokines in both groups. It follows that there is a predominance of neutrophils in the lesion site and that the hyperplasia observed in lymph node may be correlated with the increase in the number of lymphocytes Th17, that could contribute to the reduction of bacterial load in this organ.
