The EEG characteristics and EEG toposelective mapping in patients with chronic suppurative otitis media before and after a sanitizing operation on the ear

1996
: Spontaneous bioelectric activity of the brain was studied by means of EEG monitoring with toposelective EEG mapping in 45 patients with otitis media purulenta chronica before and after ear surgery. A correlation was found between the presentation of slow rhythms and the initial stage of otogenic intracranial complications in the examinees. This is an additional criterium for establishment of early diagnosis of local pachymeningitis.
