Synchronization of ATPase activity in the honeybee thorax with development, in pharate and early adult stages.
1980
SummaryThe progressive increase of oligomycin-sensitive (O-S) Mg2+ ATPase (mitochondrial in origin) is related to developmental changes during the pharate adult and early adult stages of worker honeybees in a colony at 32°C. The enzyme activity in the young adult is 20 times as great as 7 days earlier in the pharate adult. Oligomycin-insensitive Mg2+ ATPase also increases, but bya smaller amount (about 5 times).
