This book is the 3rd update of Dr. Farkas’s original text, DNA Simplified: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to DNA (AACC Press, 1996). The previous updates were Hitchhiker II (1999) and DNA from A to Z (2004). For this edition, Dr. Farkas has enlisted a coauthor, Dr. Carol Holland, Technical Marketing Manager, Beckman-Coulter, Inc. As was the case with previous efforts, DNA From A to Z & Back Again is an alphabetical list of definitions of terms and concepts routinely encountered in molecular diagnostics. And like the previous efforts, the writing style is brisk, informal, and highly entertaining. In reading this book, one almost feels as if one is having a cup of coffee with a couple of witty colleagues and chatting about the latest thing in the laboratory.
