ANALISIS PROSES PENETRALAN AIR ASAM TAMBANG MENGGUNAKAN TUMBUHAN PURUN TIKUS (Eleocharis dulcis)
2020
Acid mine drainage (AMD) is an environmental impact of coal mining activities. AMD needs to be treated in
order to meet the water quality standards set by Minister of Environment No.113 of 2003 and South Sumatra
Governor Regulation No.8 of 2012. The purpose of this study is analyze the effect of Purun Tikus, changes in
pH and levels of Fe and Mn metals in neutralizing AMD. The treatment of AMD was carried out passively with
an constructed wetland system using Purun Tikus in containing alkali metal, alkali soil, cellulose, phenol
compounds and rhizosfera microbes so that it can neutralize AMD. It in acid sulphate tidal swamps. To obtain it
does not require costs and a difficult process so it is easy to use as a neutralizing AMD. The Treatment of AMD
was carried out for 20 days on a laboratory scale using two experiment ponds 60x30x27 cm, namely ponds A
using Purun Tikus plants with soil media and organic fertilizer and ponds B which uses Purun Tikus with soil
media without organic fertilizer. The results of this study were an increase in pH and decreased levels of Fe
and Mn metals in AMD. The increase of pH in ponds A and B respectively from 3,68 to 7,51 and 6,22 (50,99%
and 40,83%). The decrease of Fe metal content in ponds A and B respectively from 0,21 mg/l to 0,012 mg/l and
0,034 mg/l (94,28% and 83,80%). The decrease of Mn metal content in ponds A and B respectively from 2,18
mg/l to 0,75 mg/l and 1,07 mg/l (65,59% and 50,91%).
