The prognostic significance of hyperploid cells in squamous carcinoma of the uterine cervix treated with radiotherapy

Abstract Smears were obtained from patients undergoing radiotherapy for Stage I–IV squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. The presence of cells with large or multiple nuclei in smears taken during or not more than 1 month following therapy was found to be associated with a significantly increased risk of early relapse.
