The method includes that measuring point information of the business system is collected, a gauging model is built according to a preset measuring point range rule and comprises at least one measuring point and information of a preset number of gauging points and included in each measuring point; a PI point object corresponding to the information of the gauging points is arranged in a PI data base, when the measuring points or the information of the gauging points of the measuring model is updated, a PI point object corresponding to updated information of the gauging points is built in the PI data base; and real-time data of the measuring points is detected according to a preset time period, and real-time data of each measuring point is written into the PI data base. By means of the PI point automatic maintaining method and device, data in the data base has real-time performance, accuracy of information in the data base is guaranteed, data in the data base is complete, and data base quality is greatly improved.
