Inducción de mutaciones por radiaciones Gamma en el cultivo in vitro de brotes del cultivar Gran Enano (AAA)

With the objective of studying the variability produced by Gamma radiation and to determine the optimum dosage of radiation for improvement programs in the cultivar Grande Naine, , shoots tip were irradiated with 8 dosages between 5 and 40 Gy using a Co 60 source. On analyzing the data, a considerable increase of the mortality was found as the dosage increased finding values of the LD 50 between 20-25 Gy . As a result of these evaluations, it is concluded that the variants consisted in changes in the height of the vitroplants, its morphology and in the pseudostem pigmentation, as well as the growth habit and the precocious flowering. A vitroplant was found with superior behavior against Black Sigatoka in comparison to the control.
