ADSPBasedH.264Decoder for aMulti-Format IPSet-Top Box

Inthis paper, theimplementation ofadigital signal processor (DSP)basedH.264decoder foramulti-format set-top boxisdescribed. Baseline andMainprofiles aresupported. Using several software optimization techniques, thedecoder hasbeen fitted intoalow-cost DSP.Thedecoder alonehasbeentested in simulation, achieving real-time performance witha 600MHz system clock. Finally, ithasbeenintegrated inamulti-format IP set-top boxusing acommercial development boardbasedonthe DSP @ 600MHz. Testsina realenvironment havebeen performed using this boardwithgoodresults.
