Study on N and P Removal in Polluted Water by Acorus calamus Cultivated in the Series of Floating-beds System

2010
N,P removal rate of Acorus calamus, plant assimilation of N and P and the growth status of plant were studied in series of floating-beds system for purifying polluted water. The results showed that Acorus calamus could control the tested water. The removal efficiencies of TN,TP were 45%,55% respectively, and average removal loads were 1.625 g/(m2·d),0.394 g/(m2·d) respectively. The contribution rate on N,P removal of plants' assimilation was obvious, and the law of contribution rate was related to spatial distribution of plant in series of floating-beds system. It is primarily indicated that floating-beds with Acorus calamus is a kind of alternative technology to control polluted water.
