Reflection-in-Learning Scale: An Adaptation to Turkish, Validity and Reliability Study

2018
The aim of this study is to adapt "Reflection-in-Learning Scale" developed by Sobral (2000) in Turkish in order to appraise the reflective learning process of students. First the scale was translated into Turkish and then the validity and reliability of the Turkish translation of the scale were assessed. The original version of the scale has one dimension and 14 items. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the original scale is .81. Adapted version of the scale was administered to 237 students of medical faculty from Cumhuriyet University, Sivas to determine its validity and reliability. The results of exploratory, confirmatory factor analyses show that a 7-point Turkish version of the scale which has one dimension like the original version and has a total of ten items is a valid and reliable scale with .85 KMO value, χ2: 718,047; df: 45; p: .000 Bartlett’s test and .83 Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient.
