Avaliação dos efeitos da reabilitação cardíaca em pacientes hipertensos Evaluating the effects of cardiac rehabilitation in hypertensive patients

2015
Introduction: Hypertension is a disease causing major impacts on individual and collective health. Cardiac rehabilitation is recognized as an effective method to treat and control the disease. Objective: To evaluate the effects of cardiac rehabilitation in hypertensive patients. Methods: We developed a transversal, retrospective study, conducted by research records of hypertensive patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation, assisted at the Clinical School of Physiotherapy from Unirg in the city of Gurupi-TO. Results: A total of 38 records, 63% female. The mean age was 68 ± 12 years. To compare the prevalence of patients in cardiac rehabilitation phase, it was observed that the stages II and III showed 18.5% each, and the highest prevalence, 63% of individuals were unable to perform physical activity charge, due to lack of diagnostic tests, not fitting in any level of cardiac rehabilitation and were treated without charge. Statistical differences were found in diastolic blood pressure (DBP) at rest (p = 0.03), and lower after the end of treatment compared to pretreatment values. The values of heart rate and systolic blood pressure did not differ. Conclusion: We conclude that cardiac rehabilitation had a positive effect in reducing DBP values at rest.
