Deuterium/hydrogen ratio in DKDP crystals by laser photothermal radiometry

1997
A nondestructive technique is proposed for determining the fraction of deuterium in DKDP crystals by photothermal radiometry, which involves measurement of the thermal heating induced by IR laser pulses close in frequency to the second harmonic of the fundamental O-H mode. This technique relies on the dependence of the 1.34 μm absorption on deuterium concentration.
