Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation increases hippocampal neurogenesis in rats

Results: In the rTMS-treated group, BrdU-positive cells were significantly increased in the dentate gyrus. Conclusion: Our results suggest that hippocampal neurogenesis might be involved in the antidepressant effects of chronic rTMS.
