Investigations on NLO Properties of Allylthiourea Cadmium Bromide (ATCB) Crystals Using Z Scan Technique

The single crystals of triallylthiourea cadmium bromide (ATCB) are synthesized from aqueous solution using slow evaporation technique at ambient temperature. The piezoelectric charge coefficient (d33) of ATCB is found to be 8pC/N. The P-E loops of the grown samples were traced using computer controlled P-E loop tracer and the loop parameters were measured. Optical nonlinearity of the ATCB sample was measured using open aperture Z scan technique and the three photon absorption coefficient is calculated.
