Quantitative Trait Loci for Plant Height and Their Relationsith with the Genetic Control of Yield Traits and Heading Date in Rice
2012
Plant height is an important trait determining the yield potential of rice.Variations on plant height among semi-dwarf rice cultivars are generally continuous distributed and controlled by polygenes.Recent studies have indicated that quantitative trait loci(QTLs) for plant height have been detected in all the 12 chromosomes of rice, and four of them have been cloned. It has been shown in QTL cloning and primary QTL mapping that many QTLs for plant height could exert pleiotropism on yield traits and/or heading date, which might be utilized to enhance the yield potential of rice.
