A Novel Type of Wireless V2H with Single Switch Dual-Active Seamless Converter in a Smart House

2018
Presented is a novel type of low-cost, minimum-component bidirectional inductive power transfer (IPT) system with a dual-active seamless controlled single-ended converter for wireless vehicle to home (V2H), which operates as the energy storage system of a smart house. First of all, described is a single-ended high-frequency (HF) inverter consisting of the simplest circuit topology which is used for a wireless EV charger. The charging power is transferred from a power feeding coil to a power receiving coil unidirectionally. Secondlry, a low-cost bidirectional single-ended HF converter is proposed. The operating principle and performance evaluation of the simple bidirectional HF converter with a single switch configuration is discussed from a practical point of view. Thirdly, a bidirectional WPT system with a dual-active seamless controlled voltage source single-ended sub-resonant HF converter for wireless V2H is proposed and tested. Finally, the practical effectiveness of bidirectional IPT based on dual-active seamless HF configuration principle is confirmed for electric vehicle to home (EV2H)/home to electric vehicle (H2EV) in smart energy utilizations.
