Flame-retardant polyamide resin composition

1979
PURPOSE:To provide a polyamide resin compsn. which produces molded articles having excellent heat resistance, flame retardance and mechanical strength, by a method wherein a specified cpd. obtained by the reaction of melamine with a diisocyanate is blended with a polyamide resin. CONSTITUTION:A cpd. of the formula (wherein R is 1-20C aliph., arom. or alicyclic hydrocarbon gp.; n is 1-15) is added to a polyamide resin. The cpd. of the above formula can be produced by the reaction of melamine with a diisocyanate. The cpd. where n is 1, can be most easily synthesized. The synthesis of the cpd. becomes more difficult with the increase of n. Thus, there is a limitation to the synthesis of the cpd. where n is greater than 15. The synthesis of the compd. where n is 1-5 is practical.
