Colitis pseudomembranosa y neoplasia colónica asociada. Pseudomembranous colitis and colonic neoplasm associated

2010
Pseudomembranous colitis is a severe form of nosocomial diarrhea. Clostridium difficile is the most common agent and should be suspected in hospitalized patients who are receiving antibiotics or have taken them previously. We report the case of a man of 52 years who was initially admitted with respiratory infection and then transferred to ICU with toxic megacolon and septic shock secondary to pseudomembranous colitis, after receiving several antibiotics.
