TOXICITY OF Cu ~(2+) ON FRESHWATER CRAB, SINOPOTAMON YANGTSEKIENSE (DECAPODA, POTAMIDAE)

2004
The response of Sinopotamon yangtsekiense in a short-term exposure to waterborne copper was studied under laboratory controlled conditions to discuss the potential use of this species as a biomonitor. The results showed that the sensitivity of S. yangtsekiense to copper in this acute toxicity test was different between female and male individuals, and the mortality progressed as the copper concentration became higher or the teat was prolonged. The rule of mortality can be adapted to time-dose-mortality (TDM) model. Fig 3, Tab 1, Ref 16
