Research on Adaptive Front-lighting System Algorithm Based on Machine Vision

At present, the mainstream AFS in the market derives turning radius based on steering wheel angle or front wheel angle, which is simple and effective, but is susceptible to the vehicle's state and has certain hysteresis. In view of this problem, this paper studies how to adjust the headlight deflection angle based on machine vision technology. It proposes to calculate the curve radius from the road image by machine vision, extract several coordinate points of the lane line, fit the circular curve using the least square method to seek the equivalent radius of the curve. Then, the calculated curve radius is compared with the radius on the electronic map via real vehicle test to prove feasibility of the algorithm. Finally, using LabVIEW as the platform, virtual adaptive front-lighting simulation software is designed.
