Radiative decays of the J/psi into. gamma pi. /sup +/. pi. /sup -/ and. gamma. K/sup +/K/sup -/

The decays J/psi..--> gamma pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ and J/psi..--> gamma..K/sup +/K/sup -/, M/sub K//sub gamma..f(1270))B(f(1270)..--> pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/), B(psi..--> gamma..f(1270))B(f(1270)..--> pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/), B(psi..--> gamma..f'(1525))B(f'(1525)..-->..K/sup +/K/sup -/), and B(psi..--> gamma..theta)B(theta(1270)..-->..K/sup +/K/sup -/). A higher-mass structure is observed in the ..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ channel. The spin of the theta(1720) is established with high confidence. The polarization structure of the f(1270), f'(1525), and theta(1720) have been determined.
