Summary A 64-year-old nulliparous womanpresented with clinical signs ofthyroid andadrenocortical insufficiency. Subsequent hormonal investigations demonstrated a failure ofallanterior pituitary functions. Pneumotomo-encephalography revealed alarge arachnoidherniation, leading tothediagnosis ofprimary emptysella turcica syndrome withsecondary panhypopituitarism. Thisunusual observation emphasizes the necessity ofruling outanemptysella turcica syndrome inpatients withpituitary insufficiency.
