Violência obstétrica na visão de mulheres no parto e puerpério

2020
Objective: To identify situations of obstetric violence (VO) from experiences of women in labor, delivery and puerperium. Method: Descriptive, exploratory research of a qualitative approach, carried out in public maternity hospitals, in the cities of Petrolina, Pernambuco and Juazeiro, Bahia. The data were collected through a semi-structured interview and analyzed according to the Thematic Content Analysis technique. Results: VO situations were identified in which organizational problems can be observed as a reflection of the abuse and disrespect of institutions, such as delay in attendance, food restriction, infrastructure problems and pilgrimage. In addition, the experiences experienced were permeated by obstacles to the humanization of care, which violated the right of women to quality and humane care. One can also perceive the non-recognition of VO by the parturients. Conclusion: It is notorious to establish new practices in these institutions with strategies to restructure care to improve maternal and child care in the fight against obstetric violence.
