A Case of Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) Liver Injury

2020
E-cigarette, or vaping, product use associated lung injury (EVALI) is a recently recognized acute or subacute respiratory illness which can be severe or even fatal (1). The main risk factor for EVALI is use of an e-cigarette or similar inhalation device using tetrahydrocannabinol or cannabidiol with oils such as vitamin E acetate (1). In addition to the adverse pulmonary effects of e-cigarettes and other vaping related products, preliminary studies suggest a possible negative effect on the cardiovascular system.
