Simulation of Local Cold Forging for Spur Gear

The great forming load and low life of die exist in the cold forging of spur gears.The two-step forming technology combined the whole loading for blocker forging of the billet with local loading for finish forging of the tooth profile was presented.The cold forging process was simulated by a finite element analysis software-Deform3D,after the models for spur gear forging and die were built by the three-dimension CAD software-Unigraphics NX.The simulation results show that the process can guarantee the full tooth shape,and decrease the forming load remarkably.
