Microstrip line fed sinusoidal tapered square shaped MIMO antenna for THz applications

Abstract The paper presents a sinusoidal tapered square patch microstrip line fed high gain wideband MIMO (multiple-input-multiple-output) antenna for high-speed THz applications. The antenna element forms a compact dual element MIMO antenna with the partial ground. The compact size antenna with dimensions of 100 × 180 µm2 achieves wide bandwidth of 5.64–37.56 THz (Port 1) and 12.86–39.96 THz (Port 2) and multiband behavior in the lower frequency range. For diversity configuration interport isolation of more than 20 dB and maximum gain of 15.28 dB for a single element antenna is achieved.
