Análise comparativa da qualidade de vida em mulheres sedentárias e praticantes da modalidade de treinamento funcional

2019
Functional Training is a method of physical training based on integrated neuromuscular development. This type of training has as its principle conditioning the body functionally efficiently and safely improving its performance and contributing to the prevention of injuries. Currently, its effects on the quality of life of its practitioners are investigated. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the effects of functional training on women's quality of life and compare these findings to the same outcome in the sedentary female population. This was a cross-sectional comparative study conducted through the questionnaire (SF-36) to compare the quality of life of women practicing functional training (GTF, n = 25) and sedentary women (GS, n = 25). For statistical treatment, the t-student test was used through the BioEstat 5.3 program. The population of this research consisted of 50 women aged 18 to 45 years. The functional training group (GTF) presented a higher quality of life than the sedentary group (GS) in 7 of the 8 domains evaluated by the S-36 inventory. It is concluded that women practicing functional training have a better quality of life when compared to sedentary women. Therefore, it is emphasized that functional training can be beneficial to raise the quality of life of the female population. On the other hand, longitudinal studies with long follow-up periods are recommended to deepen the knowledge about the quality of life of functional training practitioners.
