Application effects of quality circle control on ward oral medication preparation

Objective To explore the application effect of quality control circle (QCC) on improving the accuracy of preparing oral drugs in ward. Methods The QCC group was established and organized activities from September 2013 to March 2014. QCC activities were conducted by selecting topics, grasping current status, setting goals, analyzing major factors, forming and implementing countermeasures, and confirming effect. The current status of preparing oral drugs in our ward was analyzed from September 2013 to March 2014, then countermeasures were formed and implemented. At last, the accuracy of preparing oral drugs in ward was analyzed before and after QCC activities. Results The accuracy of preparing oral drugs in ward before QCC activities was 73.66%, and after QCC activities 94.54% (χ2=29.938, P<0.01). Conclusions QCC activities can improve the accuracy of preparing oral drugs in ward and should be popularized. Key words: Quality control circle; Oral drugs; Preparation
