Solubility of a poorly soluble immunosuppressant in different pure solvents: Measurement, correlation, thermodynamics and molecular interactions
2018
Abstract The objective of this research work was to measure the solubility of mycophenolate mofetil (MPM) in ten different pure solvents at temperatures T = 298.2 K to 318.2 K and pressure p = 0.1 MPa. The solubilities of MPM in mole fraction were obtained maximum in ethyl acetate (9.28 × 10 − 2 ) and minimum in water (4.16 × 10 − 6 ) at “ T = 318.2 K” and similar trends were also observed at each temperature investigated. Higher solute-solvents molecular interactions were observed in MPM-ethyl acetate and MPM-Transcutol. Apparent thermodynamic analysis indicated an endothermic and entropy-driven dissolution of MPM in each solvent investigated.
