La inseguridad económica en España: análisis de su nivel, evolución y tendencias

We study the dimension, distribution and recent trend of economic insecurity in Spain and we describe the sociodemographic characteristics of the most insecure population. To measure economic insecurity, we explore three different methodologies that use different aggregation of dimensions and weighting procedures and we adapt the information from the main data source to measure wellbeing in European Union countries, the EU-SILC. Our main methodological contribution is to conclude that the use of a multidimensional index of economic insecurity that includes both subjective and objective dimensions based on the counting approach has advantages for the study of economic insecurity in developed countries.
