Análise Sismoestratigráfica na Baía do Espírito Santo – Vitória - ES

2011
A seismic stratigraphic interpretation was performed on seismic profiles acquired from different sources in the Espirito Santo Bay – ES. The data were processed and interpreted, identified the geometry of the reflectors and their terminations in order to highlight the changes in sea level and some features formed during these events. Onplap reflectors were identified, representing high sea conditions in the study area. The appearance of paleochannels prove that there was a drop in sea level, because the river tends to seek the base level, digging the continental shelf and generating such channels. In addition, the filling confirms a further rise in the sea, generating onlap terminations between the paleochannel and the filling. In some lines, the presence of parallel oblique clinoforms near the surface with downlap terminations represent a possible drop in sea level.
