TRANSEXUALIDADE: UMA QUESTÃO DE IDENTIDADE

Transsexuality can be considered one of the most controversial aspect of human sexuality. This case study presents some important approaches of A., a man-+woman transsexual, 39 years old, white, from Sao Jose do Rio Preto. He has been attending the gender dysphoria program at Hospital de Base, Sao Jose do Rio Preto Medical School, FAMERP. Although, since childhood he had faced his own gender inadequacy, only three years ago he noticed the concept of transsexuality. Afterwards, he initiated himself into "tranformation" of female Sex. This can be considered a special fact on transsexuality overview. He does not identify himself with both homosexuals and transvestites. At present, he has been living like a woman, expecting for his sehual redesignation surgery. A. is single, has a boyfriend, shares a room with a female friend and works as a receptionist.
