Spectroscopic and Thermodynamical Studies of Metal-Amino Sugar Complexes

1995
Amino sugars are known to bind metal ions. Different studies have been made on D-Galactosarnine1 and D-Glucosamine1 with a range of metal ions. They show that cyclic amino sugar form monomeric species. It is admitted that they bind metal ions in a bidentate manner involving amino group as major donor and a deprotonated hydroxyl group as second donor.
