Agent for restoring vasorelaxant action of coronary vascular endothelium and preventing coronary vasospasm
1990
PURPOSE: To prepare an agent, comprising an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) and useful for restoring the vasorelaxant actions of the coronary vascular endothelium injured by arteriosclerosis and/or hypercholestrolemia and preventing coronary vasospasm. CONSTITUTION: This agent comprises an ACE inhibitor, especially a mercapto- containing ACE inhibitor (e.g. captopril or zonofepril) and is capable of restoring the vasorelaxant actions of the endothelium (especially a coronary artery) and thereby preventing the possibility of vasospasm and ischemia. A phosphonate- substituted amino acid or imino acid, a proline derivative, a mercaptoacyl derivative of a substituted proline or a phosphonamidate derivative is used as the ACE inhibitor. The dose thereof is within the range of about 0.01 to about, 100mg/kg, preferably about 0.1 to about 25mg/kg in the case of oral administration and within the range of about 0.005 to about 10mg, preferably about 0.01 to about 1mg/kg in the case of the parenteral administration.
