Investigation of coal-oil mixture (COM) stability

This paper deals primarily with the effect of additives, water content, species of coal and oil, coal particle size and storage temperature on stability of COM. It is shown that when COM is prepared from about 50% coal (of which 70-80% pass 200 mesh sieve), 45% oil, 3-5% water and certain amount of additives, the variation of coal concentration in each of 3 layers in the column is less than +/- 5% after 10 days storage under 70 C.
