Illumination Inconsistency Reduction in Video Frames using DSIHE with Kekre’s LUV Color Space

2021
The significance of quality in visual perception of video frames is inevitable. The video sequences have become ubiquitous in nature and there is a dire need for accurate interpretability of these video frames. The background model plays an instrumental role in excellent visual perception. Illumination variations in the video sequences is a concern and a challenging issue as primary applications being object detection and video surveillance gets affected. In the proposed work, the Histogram variation, Dualistic Sub-Image Histogram Equalization (DSIHE) with Kekre’s LUV color space has been experimented for illumination inconsistency reduction with over bright and darker set of video frames and substantial average entropy of 7.4898 has been obtained.
